Double Coded Welder

Duties and Responsibilities:

Carry out coded welding (double coded – e.g., SMAW, GTAW, or FCAW as required) on structural and pressure components.

Inspect, repair, and maintain ceramic-lined pulverised fuel (PF) hangers and supports.

Fabricate components according to technical drawings and specifications.

Install PF hangers, supports, and related structures on-site.

Ensure proper alignment, fitting, and securing of fabricated parts.

Conduct visual and dimensional inspections before, during, and after welding.

Identify defects and perform necessary corrective actions.

Work with maintenance and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability.

Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and quality requirements.

Maintain tools, welding equipment, and work areas in good condition.

Minimum Requirements:

Valid Welding Trade Test – double welding (e.g., 2 welding processes coded).

Grade 12

Proven experience in welding, fabrication, and installation within industrial or power plant environments.

Experience working with ceramic-lined components and PF systems (advantageous).

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding procedures.

Knowledge of welding standards and quality control processes.

Physically fit and able to work in demanding environments.
