PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To manage and co-ordinate the Specialised Control and Instrumentation function to ensure continuous improvement in operational efficiency through optimising current or implementing new technology according to client needs and organisational objectives.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12 NQF Level 4 Certificate is essential.

Instrumentation Trade Certificate is essential.

Instrumentation Diploma/Degree is essential.

Registered with ECSA as Pr.Tech.Eng is essential.

Project Management Qualification is essential.

SMDP Completed is essential.

5 years in a C&I Operation or C&I Project environment is essential.

3-5 years’ experience in Project Management is essential.

5 years managerial experience is essential.

COMPETENCIES:

MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Broad technical skills (physical sciences) and knowledge of process control equipment and s stems implementation across a wide ran e of lants and processes

Understanding of Process requirements and ensure delivery to these requirements

Ability to self-manage and deliver multiple projects/tasks concurrently

Knowledge of interfacing process control equipment and control systems

Provide technical support and leadership solving issues in an integrated cross-functional team environment

Testing and commissioning of C & I systems and equipment

Strong Communication, influencing and negotiating and assertiveness skills

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Analyses the area’s financial needs to integrate discipline/technical and financial requirements to ensure sufficient financial resources according to the organisational strategy.

Manages and control the allocation of funds to ensure adherence to approved budgeted expenditure.

Interprets organizational technology strategy and formulates technology implementation and/or upgrades plans in accordance with established project management principles.

Identifies and develops appropriate practices, specifications, and standards for the C&I discipline.

Ensures co-ordination, identification and development of appropriate technology solution to meet specific operational objectives.

Executes assigned discipline-based activity by assigning the appropriate resources to meet project/operational objectives.

Provides with Risk evaluation and mitigation within design of systems, equipment and products (technical and SHE).

Ensures execution of discipline design (systems, equipment, and products) through to documentation and data pack management.

Establishes and maintains a competency knowledge base and keeps abreast with new technological developments.
