To provide non-technical assistance to the Drill Rig
Operator, which includes but not limited to:
• Drill rig assistance
• Reporting
• SHERQ adherence and compliance (in own area of
work)
• Work Ethics
QUALIFICATIONS
(Essential unless otherwise indicated)
• Grade 12
EXPERIENCE
(Essential unless otherwise indicated)
• At least Six (6) months mechanical experience
(Recommended)
• At least six (6) months drill rig assistant experience
(Recommended)
• At least six (6) months mining environment experience
(Recommended)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
• Literacy
o Able to read and understand sampling and mining procedures
• Technical Knowledge
o Drill methodology and drilling procedures
o Risk assessment
o SHERQ
o Housekeeping and general safety awareness
o Read and interpret drilling plans
o Basic comprehension of first line maintenance related activities
• Performing physical tasks
• Working with equipment / machinery
• Communication skill
• Policies and procedures
• Physical requirements
• SHERQ Skills
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
(Essential unless otherwise indicated)
• Medically fit
o Meet required medical fitness standards
• Driver’s license
o Valid Code EB (Code 08) driver’s license
• Aptitude assessments
o Dover: As per machine requirement, testing to be conducted
biannually
o Successful completion of assessment required
